· realism & characters

the rules here are pretty basic. the premise of this gpsl requires good communication. your character can't haul off and kill another character without express out of character permission. you also need to keep realism in mind. your character isn't going to have a fall from the top of a three-story building and walk away from it as though nothing happened. wounds and broken bones are going to take time to heal. characters aren't always going to get the perfect head shot. your characters should have flaws! they can be friendly, scared, assholes, shady, upstanding citizens, ex-cons .. you get the point. "leaders" of telluride will be npc'd. jobs will be assigned to everyone in a rotating fashion. rule #1 of telluride? members of telluride must contribute and learn how to do as many tasks as they can, including basic survival, medical and hunting skills. no one is exempt from any job and everyone must learn how to perform every duty.

· suspension of disbelief

as a zombie gpsl, while we have the realism requirements above, we also have to suspend our disbelief to make this gpsl fun and active.
a. ic journals and f/o posts. in this world there is no internet or cell phones. because of this, we need to acknowledge that ic journals are not that. f/o posts or customs should be treated like walkie talkies or face to face conversations. f/o posts shouldn't have gifs that you and another character discuss but you can personalize it somehow with an image. when asking for a custom, ask for a "frequency".

b. while you don't have to asterisk or do anything like that, keep in mind that if a character in your customs or f/o post are communicating, you need to put that in your subject line when you start your interaction on these posts. face to face, walkie talkies or note passing is allowed.

c. characters will die. characters that die off will be written off as dead or missing. if you're going to drop your character you can let us know which you prefer in case you want to come back. if you don't let us know, please be ready for your character to be eaten alive. if your character is close to someone we may let that person decide if they want to have the line refilled. either way, we'd appreciate it if you let us know! members should be ready for the fall-out. we will try to incorporate ligther moments and celebrations when we can as we are aware that this will be a bleaker place to write.

d. zombie pop culture did not exist in the world before the outbreak. this concept of outbreak and resurrection from the dead is entirely new to this world. on the walking dead they're called walkers but they're called 'biters' in telluride.

· how to apply

we require three main things to apply to biohazard. first off, we need you to fill out this survey in it's entirety. secondly, you'll need an ic journal (keep it clean and simple) with both an ic interaction post and ooc contact post. your survey should be viewable to the public and located in your contact post. finally, you'll need four writing examples that show off your ability (two narratives and two scenes or four of each). this is where we will be determining if you'll be a good fit for this game due to it being very plot-centric and writing heavy. please do not pm them! have them viewable to us in your character's journal or give us your compilation journal. we do not have a cap on characters but we ask that if you do bring in another character that you try to branch out whether it's a different gender or compeltely different personality.

· be kind and rewind

we ask for you to be kind and respectful here at biohazard. this game will encourage conflict between characters, but that doesn't mean this discord should trickle over into ooc interaction. we'll have zero tolerance for bullying and god-modding and any true evidence of such will be dealt with immediately.

· updates and journals

how are we explaining the function of journals in a zombie apocalypse? it's pretty easy. when you are posting in flesh, it's like you are having a conversation with the group that anyone can comment on. customs are to be treated like personal conversations between two characters. we have a few options when it comes to updating! you may update your character journal once a month but it must be a substantial update - a narrative (600+ words), an in-depth creative photoshop creation, etc. if you cannot manage this you have the option to update twice a month with anything you want. we'll allow html updates, hover and mini narratives, playlists, any activity posted by you will count toward one update as well - pretty much anything in your journal as long as it's twice a month. biohazard will also post conflicts for the survivors to endure that will help fuel creativity and storyline development as well as narrative prompts, etc.

· activity

your requirement for activity is keeping your friends list up to date and making your update deadline every month. other than that, you're free to post whenever you want in flesh. we'll have a chart that tracks each member's deadline. if you are not pulling your weight, more than likely we'll give you a warning. however, if we see that you are still not pulling your weight in this gpsl, we reserve the right to remove you after said warning. you'll also have a chance to be active through public events as we will be having plenty of group threads and plot posts. if you're not interested in putting your writing out there or scening on a public level, this might not be the place for you.

· acceptance & interaction

when you are added into the community, make sure that you go to the member's post. there you will find the adds button and the update tracker. make your character's "introduction" in flesh. this group of survivors have been together for as long as 1 day to 5 months now, so this requirement should be modeled off of a conversation stater rather than the normal introduction we see in other games. you have seventy-two hours to introduce your character.

· zombie lore

biohazard follows the "lore" of the walking dead. that means all your questions about zombies should be answered here. the outbreak of the zombies happened in the summer of 2016 in mid-june and has ravaged all countries. there are pockets of survivors including the telluride group. they have been together since august, and have been trying to make a stable set up in telluride despite the unpredictable hordes of biters and malicious bandits.
